http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5229456.stm

Now the U.S. is going to lose jobs and business to the U.K. because Bush is too ignorant to pass a bill that the U.S. people favor by 80%. Dumbass.

No funny name for you!

Malaysia outlaws unsuitable names
Malaysian authorities have published a list of undesirable titles to prevent parents giving their children names such as Hitler, smelly dog or 007. Such choices are not allowed, but there is a right of appeal.
The list came as a response to the growing number of Malaysians who are applying to change their birth names. Now names like the Hokkien Chinese Ah Chwar, meaning snake, and Khiow Khoo, meaning hunchback, are being ruled out. So too are Cantonese monikers Chow Tow, meaning smelly head, and Sor Chai, meaning insane. Members of Malaysia's Tamil community will be discouraged from using the likes of Karrupusamy (black god), and Malays from trying names like Woti, meaning sexual intercourse.
But the ban extends further. Parents will not be able to call their babies after animals, insects, fruit, vegetables or colours. Numbers are also not allowed, so little James Bonds cannot flaunt their 007 status on their ID cards. Other restrictions stop parents giving children royal or honorary titles as names or calling their little ones after Japanese cars.

July's Dickhead of the Month - Ayman al-Zawahiri

Al Qaeda calls on Muslims to fight Israel
Al Qaeda No. 2 tells Muslims in Lebanon, 'We will stand with you'
DOHA, Qatar -- With a poster of the burning World Trade Center behind him, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant appeared on tape Thursday calling on Muslims to join the fight against Israel and "rise up seeking martyrdom and attack the crusaders and Zionists."
The video of Ayman al-Zawahiri aired on Al-Jazeera. He likened the battles in Lebanon and Gaza to al Qaeda's battle against the West and called on Muslims to wage "jihad in the name of God." He did not specifically mention Hezbollah, which is battling Israel in southern Lebanon, or Hamas, which is embroiled in fighting in Gaza. "The al Qaeda organization will not stay silent regarding what the Muslims in Palestine and Lebanon are facing," al-Zawahiri said
He said that the Israeli rockets that "are tearing up Muslims' bodies in Gaza and Lebanon" are paid for by the "crusader's alliance," referring to U.S. support for Israel.
He added, "Everyone who participated in this crime must pay the price, and we will not stand by watching these explosives pouring down on our brothers in Gaza and Lebanon while we stand in silence and do nothing."

Shoot him

Saddam: Shoot me if I'm guilty

Saddam Hussein has said he would rather die by firing squad than be hanged "like a common criminal" in his final appearance before a tribunal renders its verdict in his war crimes trial.

"I ask you being an Iraqi person that if you reach a verdict of death, execution, remember that I am a military man and should be killed by firing squad and not by hanging as a common criminal," the former Iraqi president said.

It only costs pennies to shoot him. Should have done that when he was found hiding in a hole, like a common criminal...

Governator Trumps Bush

Schwarzenegger OKs $150 million for research

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger yesterday authorized a $150 million loan to the state's stem cell institute, giving it money to make research grants while continuing to fight legal challenges that threaten its existence.
The move came a day after President Bush used his veto power for the first time in his presidency to quash a law that would have expanded federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.Schwarzenegger said the state cannot afford to wait to fund the critical science. I remain committed to advancing stem cell research in California, in the promise it holds for millions of our citizens who suffer from chronic diseases and injuries that could be helped as a result of stem cell research,” Schwarzenegger said in a letter authorizing the loan.
Stem cell institute President Zach Hall said the loan will give the financially challenged organization enough money to fund at least one round of grants.

HAHA Bushy! The Governator will fund stem cell research if you don't. Go Arnie!

NY Post Editorial

On Israel and Lebanon of course. This is one of the better ones that I've read since the conflict has been going on. About 80% of the comments/posts/articles have been against Israel. Here's one for them and what they are doing.

Bush Groping the German Chancellor

Nuking Iran's Facilities

Ouch, this would bad for everyone if this happened. A pre-emptive nuking of Iran would not be good at all for the Middle east.

Keep your religion out of Politics

Bush set to veto stem cell bill
President George W Bush is set to veto a controversial bill passed by Senators which would increase funding of embryonic stem cell research. White House spokesman Tony Snow said Mr Bush's veto - his first since taking office - would be "pretty swift". Senators voted 63-37 to pass the bill, short of the two-thirds majority needed to override the presidential veto. Polls suggest most Americans back the research, which scientists hope will lead to cures for serious illnesses.

No shit! Polls suggest most Americans back stem cell research. Most of us don't think we talk to invisble people in the sky! Bush is getting dumber as each day passes.

Girls, don't go to Guatemala.

Guatemala urged to act on murders

Guatemala is still failing to take action over the high number of murders of women and girls in the country, according to Amnesty International. The rights group said there has been little progress since June 2005, when it called on the authorities to act. Up to 70% of murders of women are not investigated and no arrests are made in 97% of cases, Amnesty says. It adds that some officials recognise how serious the problem is, but many still tend to blame the victims. Amnesty's latest report cites police figures which show that 229 women and girls were killed in Guatemala in the first six months of 2006.

Many of the murders were exceptionally brutal, with the victims suffering sexual violence, mutilation and dismemberment. Amnesty says that it knows of only two convictions out of 665 murders of women in 2005. Among the cases highlighted in the report is that of Cristina Hernandez, who was forced into a car outside her home on 27 July 2005.
Her father tried in vain to give chase and then went to a police to report the abduction and to ask the officers to set up roadblocks. Her father said the officers refused, arguing that girls often ran off with boyfriends and that they could not begin a search for 24 hours.

Cristina's body was found the next morning. She had been shot four times and bitten all over her body. Her family, afraid for their safety, went into hiding. Her killers are still at large.
Amnesty says that in many cases, there is a failure to carry out even basic investigations, process the crime scene and preserve potential evidence. Heavy case loads, lack of equipment and the shortage of police investigators mean that few cases are pursued vigorously.
Amnesty is calling on the Guatemalan authorities to improve the quality of criminal investigations, including providing more training for investigators.
It also says there should be more efforts to guarantee the safety of witnesses and family members, and to follow up reported abductions of women and girls.

Swearbear George

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia - It wasn't meant to be overheard. Private luncheon conversations among world leaders, picked up by a microphone, provided a rare window into both banter and substance — including President Bush. Bush expressed his frustration with the
United Nations' and his disgust with the militant Islamic group and its backers in
Syria' as he talked to British Prime Minister Tony Blair' during the closing lunch at the Group of Eight summit.
"See the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit and it's over," Bush told Blair as he chewed on a buttered roll.
He told Blair he felt like telling U.N. Secretary-General
Kofi Annan' who visited the gathered leaders, to get on the phone with Syrian President Bashar Assad to "make something happen.".

Maybe the FCC should put W on a 5 second deley....

Modern Godiva rides through city

Ms Thomas rode over Magdalen Bridge in front of 100 extrasEarly risers were met by an unexpected sight as a young woman rode "naked" on a white horse through Oxford city centre on Monday morning.
Phoebe Thomas, 23, was taking part in a comedy film production - a modern re-telling of the Lady Godiva legend.
The wife of an 11th Century earl is said to have ridden naked through Coventry in protest against her husband's harsh taxation of his people. Her modesty was, according to the legend, preserved only by her hair. Ms Thomas wore flesh-coloured underwear and tights as she rode over Oxford's historic Magdalen Bridge in front of 100 extras.

Living in the country I see people riding horses all the time, never this way though.......

Lebanon

Israel has intensified its attacks on Lebanon as jets launched fresh strikes on Beirut airport, the road to the Syrian capital and a power plant. The Israelis concentrated on the southern suburbs of the city, known as a stronghold of Hezbollah militants. The offensive, which has killed more than 50 Lebanese civilians since Wednesday, follows the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah. The escalation has sparked international calls for restraint.

The UN Security Council is due to hold an emergency meeting later on Friday. Lebanon has urged it to adopt a resolution calling for a ceasefire.
US President George W Bush has promised to press Israel to halt attacks, the Lebanese prime minister has said.

Lebanon supports terrorists and supports the same terrorists with helps on attacking Israel. Now israel gets pissed(Never Again) and beats the shit out of Lebanon. Now Lebanon is wanting the U.N. to stop Isreal. Hey Dipshits - How bout we get the U.N. to put some sanctions on you for supporting terrrorists. You reap what you sow.

Let him Die

Saddam begins fresh hunger strike

Saddam Hussein has begun a hunger strike as part of a continuing protest over security for defence lawyers at his trial, US officials have said. Three co-defendants of the former Iraqi leader are also said to have refused some food over the past six days. The group, which includes Saddam Hussein's half-brother, Barzan al-Tikriti, also boycotted court sessions this week in Baghdad. Saddam Hussein and seven co-accused deny crimes against humanity. The defendants say they were not responsible for the deaths of 148 Shia Muslim villagers following an assassination attempt on Saddam Hussein in 1982.

Why is this being put up with? OK, I can see the Iraq government trying to be civil and fair about this trial, since iraq's government hasn't been this way in a long time, but come on. Saddam is making a mockery of this trial, he obviously still thinks he can do whatever he wants and have no-one say otherwise. This trial is making the new Iraq Government seem soft and easily controlled. The new Iraq Government needs to start treating this trial with an iron fist, although it may be too late for that now. If the government keeps being seen as soft one can expect years more of U.S. operating in Iraq, and years of insurgants and terrorists. Hopefully they can make a step in the right direction and put a quick and justified end to this trial.
